Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using Rooted (our app, website at myrootedapp.com, and related services), which is operated by Rooted App Inc., a Delaware corporation, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully before using Rooted, as well as our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms or the Privacy Policy, you must not access or use Rooted.

Changes to the Terms

We may revise and update these Terms from time to time at our sole discretion. Any changes are effective when we post them. Your continued use of Rooted following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.

We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.

Description of Service

Rooted is an AI-powered biblical learning platform designed to help believers at every stage:

  • Explore Scripture through personalized, AI-generated lessons
  • Track your progress through structured learning paths
  • Strengthen your faith with quizzes, insights, and study tools
  • Grow in biblical knowledge at your own pace

Beta Program

Rooted is currently in beta. As a beta participant, you understand that:

  • Features may change, be added, or removed
  • Bugs and issues may occur
  • Your feedback helps shape the future of Rooted
  • The service is provided "as is" during the beta period

Account Registration

Eligibility

To create an account, you must be at least 13 years of age. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Account Security

If you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

We reserve the right to disable any account at any time if, in our opinion, you have violated these Terms.

Permitted Use

You may use Rooted for:

  • Personal, non-commercial biblical learning and study
  • Internal use by religious or educational organizations
  • Sharing insights and lessons with others (with proper attribution)

All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Rooted.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to use Rooted to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Exploit, harm, or attempt to harm minors
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Harass, abuse, or intimidate other users
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of Rooted
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract content
  • Engage in any activity that could harm Rooted or its users

You also agree not to submit content that is:

  • Defamatory, obscene, or offensive
  • Promotes violence, discrimination, or illegal activity
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Violates the privacy rights of others
  • Misrepresents its origin or endorsement by Rooted

User Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you create on Rooted (notes, bookmarks, highlights, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, and display your content solely to provide and improve the service.

You represent that:

  • You own or have rights to your content
  • Your content complies with these Terms
  • Your content does not violate any third-party rights

Removal of Content

We may remove any content that violates these Terms. We are not responsible for monitoring all user content but reserve the right to do so.

AI-Generated Content

Educational Purpose Only

Rooted uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized lessons, quizzes, and insights. This content is provided for educational purposes only.

Important Disclaimers

AI is not a replacement for:

  • Pastoral guidance and counseling
  • Church community and fellowship
  • Professional theological education
  • Personal, prayerful Bible study

Accuracy

While we strive for theological accuracy and align our content with historic Christian orthodoxy, we cannot guarantee that all AI-generated content is free from errors. The Bible remains the ultimate authority. We encourage you to verify insights with Scripture and consult trusted spiritual leaders.

Your Responsibility

The Rooted name and logo are trademarks of Rooted App Inc., a Delaware corporation. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

Scripture

Scripture quotations used in Rooted may be subject to copyright by their respective publishers. Rooted licenses Scripture content from various sources and respects all applicable copyrights.

Third-Party Services

Rooted may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms.

Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.

Disclaimer of Warranties

YOUR USE OF ROOTED IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

ROOTED IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF CONTENT
  • UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ROOTED WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROOTED AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Personal injury or emotional distress
  • Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use Rooted

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rooted and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of Rooted
  • Your user content
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Termination

By You

You may stop using Rooted at any time. You may delete your account through the app settings.

By Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to Rooted at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use Rooted ceases immediately.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, we may delete your account and associated data, except as required by law or as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law and Disputes Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought in the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware.

Disputes Resolution

If you have any concern or dispute about the Service, you agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at the email address below. We will make good faith efforts to resolve any dispute within 30 days.

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any remaining dispute shall be resolved in accordance with the Governing Law section above.

Waiver and Severability

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Rooted regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements.
